From time to time, especially in the era of a pandemic, I've been faced with video editing from time to time. However, a frequent problem is: I have no idea how to edit videos. Often times, all I want to do is to cut videos and stitch them together, but many software are too complex to do that.

However, I've found my solution recently: VidCutter. VidCutter is a simple software that offers two features: cutting and merging videos. Cutting video is intuitively with its UI, and it even offers merging of external videos, although it may require turning off all additional features.

VidCutter has made preparing my talk video for the APLAS conference easy, and I look forward to using it in the future. Free, open source, and also cross-platform!

Download today. (Unless you are already a video editing wizard).

Edit: If you want to combine audio and video tracks, Shotcut is also a great and easy software for doing that. How to combine video and audio: make sure to click Add Audio Track, and the rest should be self-explanatory.
